What is The Damascus Foundation?

The Damascus Foundation was established in 2005 by the Owner/President and employees of The Damascus Group, Damascus Homes and Cornerstone Realty of Georgia. The Owner/President had a vision to share what God had blessed him with from the company that HE laid the groundwork for. The employees were also invited to make the foundation possible and after 8 months into establishing the funds, The Damascus Foundation is ready to give back to our community and those outside of our community to assist in helping to meet the needs of those that could use a helping and “open hand”.

The Damascus Foundation was created so that Christ’s command could be fulfilled in that those less fortunate and needing assistance would have their needs taken care of along with sharing HIS word with those that we are fortunate to meet.

“If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your GOD is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother. Rather be open-handed and freely lend him whatever he needs.” Deuteronomy 15:7-8

The Damascus Foundation, Inc. seeks to differentiate itself in that it has been established to provide for individuals, families and children that are in need of not only food and clothing but also in need of a Savior, Jesus Christ. The Damascus Foundation seeks to provide those individuals, families and children in need of educational, physical, spiritual and financial purposes by providing charitable donations along with engaging in activities to fulfill our spiritual call to achieve those purposes.

The Damascus Foundation’s Focus

The Damascus Foundation’s main focus is to provide for those individuals, families or children that are in need of physical, spiritual and educational support. The foundation helps to fund those that are in need of food, clothing and/or shelter. At many times in our lives when we are the least prepared, we can be faced with situations that could leave us with needing a helping hand. The Damascus Foundation wants to be there for those times to help. We provide monetary funding to qualifying individuals, families and/or children and at times even provide those less fortunate with basic necessity items that we at times take for granted. We want to be a part of our community outreach in giving back to those from what we have been blessed with.

Mission Supporting

Our funds were also established to provide for those following Christ’s call to “Go out and spread the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the world”. Many people are called to be involved in Mission Trips and those funds are not always readily available. Our foundation helps to provide those funds to fulfill what God has commanded of us. Whether it is a local Mission Trip or to another country our foundation can assist those that qualify monetarily or can provide a donation of Bibles, tracts or other items needed to fulfill the Mission Trips purpose.

Academic Grants

Another area that The Damascus Foundation focuses on is to provide Academic Grants to students preparing for their future. College can be a big demand on many families and our foundation sets aside funds for 4 grants a year to qualifying students. We want to help our future generations grow spiritually and confidently in what the Lord has planned for them.

People have often asked “How can I be a part of a foundation that gives back to fulfill the goal that Christ has commanded us with?” The Damascus Foundation accepts donations to help fulfill that commitment. Your contributions are tax deductible and will be used to better our communities and the uttermost parts of the world. Each year The Damascus Foundation will provide each contributor with a statement of their contributions and how they helped to make a difference. Your support can help make the difference in the lives of those that need a helping and open-hand.
