Damascus Homes is a very unique company. While it strives to be the best homebuilder in the Atlanta area, it also holds fast to its firm roots in faith and its commitment to excellence. It’s easy to say that your company cares about its employees; it’s another thing to prove it. Grounded in Faith

Owners Jay and Gina York took it very seriously when God impressed upon their hearts to start making changes within the company. It would have been easy to disregard them and keep things the same, but Jay and Gina knew that the best was yet to come. Building Atlanta real estate is such a small part of the call.

"To whom much has been given, much is expected," says Jay, "so I know the Lord expects a lot from Damascus Homes." The company began closing its doors on Sundays, contrary to popular industry thought. "40% of the typical building business comes on Sunday," says Jay, "but the Lord dealt with me and my wife, Gina, about it for over a year." On February 1st, 2005, the couple agreed to fully obey God in this area, and though they were afraid, they've not seen any decline in sales, but rather an increase. "It was scary, yes. But we've gained nothing but benefits from it," testifies Jay.

It would be easy for us to sit idly by and watch homeless people go without food and shelter, or to watch kids go without presents at Christmas, but if we did that then all of the success in the homebuilding business would mean nothing.

Every year Damascus Homes sponsors hundreds of Atlanta area families at Christmas time to make sure that they have clothes, food and even toys for the children. We don’t just send a check somewhere and expect it to get done either. The employees at Damascus Homes do the shopping; they wrap the presents, serve the food and hand deliver the gifts to each family. This is the time of the year when all of the hard work pays off.
